Prince Royce launched the Billboard En Vivo tour with a magnetic performance at New York's Le Poisson Rouge on Friday night (April 3). The launch of the intimate concert series drew devoted fans for an unplugged performance by the bachata star.

The event -- sponsored by Coors Light, Pepsi and Comcast -- was the first of five star-filled concerts that will lead up to the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which take place in Miami on April 30.

Prince Royce Reflects on 'Amazing' 10th No. 1 on Tropical Songs

Leila Cobo, Billboard's Executive Director of Latin Content & Programming, interviewed the 25-year-old tropical music sensation on stage, where he spoke about upcoming projects and the development of his musical style from Spanish-language bachata to English-language pop.

"As a Latino growing up in the U.S.," he reflected, "both sides have always been there."

Royce thrilled the eager crowd with a medley of his biggest hits, including "Darte Un Beso," a track that spent 14 weeks atop Hot Latin Songs in 2013. He also sang his latest chart-topping single "Solita," from the deluxe version of his most recent album Soy El Mismo. The track hit No. 1 on Tropical Songs on the chart dated March 21, becoming his 10th song to reach the top of the list.

J Balvin, Prince Royce & Victor Manuelle to Perform For Billboard En Vivo Tour

The singer also gave the audience a taste of his upcoming debut English-Language album, performing his hit "Stuck On a Feeling." The song, performed at the show sans featured artist Snoop Dogg, is Royce's first pop crossover single from the upcoming set (due this year on RCA) and reached No. 43 on the all-format Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated Feb. 14).

The remaining Billboard En Vivo tour will feature rising urban act J Balvin, one of salsa's biggest stars Victor Manuelle, as well as another show from Royce (Chicago, April 7). The series will wrap April 29 in Miami preceding the annual award show, which will be broadcast by Telemundo from the Bank United Center at 8 p.m. on April 30.

The tour and the awards show are in conjunction with the Billboard Latin Music Conference, which runs April 27-30 at The Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach.
