Pitbull to Launch His Own SiriusXM Channel

Armando Christian Perez’s quest for world domination continues via the launch of his own SiriusXM channel, dubbed Globalization (also the name of his most recent album). The commercial-free channel will feature music from Pitbull's own catalog -- including his endless list of collaborations over the years -- as well as live performances and exclusive mix shows. A fan of everyone from Celia Cruz to Nas, the rapper is also integrating tracks by his musical influences into the programming.

Globalization follows the formula of other partnerships between SiriusXM and artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, Eminem, Willie Nelson, Tiesto and Neil Diamond. It’s also Pitbull’s first major business deal for 2015, after having signed a deal last year with Endemol North America to produce original content for television and digital platforms.

To celebrate the launch of Globalization, Pitbull will perform at a special, invite-only concert at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem, N.Y., on May 19. The Miami-bred MC’s latest feel-good dance anthem “Time of Our Lives,” featuring Ne-Yo, is his tenth top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (currently at No. 9). After spending 14 weeks on the chart, the Dr. Luke-produced track off Pitbull’s eighth studio album shows no signs of slowing down.
