Reggaeton star Yandel, who is a finalist for several Billboard Latin Music Awards, is kicking off his first U.S. solo tour with stops across the country including New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
The urban music artist will also include three special shows for Billboard en Concierto in New York, Chicago and Miami on April 10, 11 and 12, respectively. These concerts are themed around the Billboard Latin Music Conference & Awards taking place in April.
Yandel's "De Líder a Leyenda VIP Tour" will also make stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The entertainer, best known for his work with recording partner, Wisin, last year announced that the pair was taking time off to record individual projects.
In 2013, the duo's manager Edgar Andino told Billboard that Wisin and Yandel were not splitting up, but taking time to work on solo projects. Wisin, whose new album El Regreso del Sobreviviente includes the new track "Adrenalina," featuring Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin.
Yandel's new project includes 17 new songs, mostly written by the rapper who also collaborated with Daddy Yankee, J. Alvarez, Gadiel "El General" and Don Omar. He's a Billboard Latin Music Awards finalist as Artist of the Year, Soloist, Latin Rhythm Songs and Artist of the Year Soloist, Latin Rhythm Albums.
Additionally, as part of Wisin & Yandel, the recording partners are finalists as Duo or Group of the Year, Latin Pop Songs; Duo or Group of the Year, Latin Rhythm Songs and Duo or Group of the Year, Latin Rhythm Albums.
