Kevin Ortiz, Los Primos MX and Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez also added to the Oct. 9 show

Los Tigres del Norte, Diana Reyes, Kevin Ortiz, Los Primos MX, and Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez are scheduled to perform at the 2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards show, to be held Oct. 9 in Los Angeles and broadcast live on Telemundo.

Named by Billboard as the world's most influential Regional Mexican group, Los Tigres Del Norte are the undisputed legends of Norteño music, with a repertoire of more than 500 recorded songs and nearly 60 albums.  Diana Reyes, the Queen of Pasito Duranguense is the leading Duranguense music female act. Kevin Ortiz, the younger brother of leading Billboard Mexican Awards finalist Gerardo Ortiz, is a popular newcomer in on the Mexican music scene. Los Primos MX, previously known as Los Primos de Durango, are known for their fusion of styles. Mariachi Sol de Mexico de José Hernandez is one of the premiere mariachi organizations in the world, with a tradition dating back to 1879.

As previously announced, Joan Sebastian, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizarraga, Gerardo Ortiz and Banda Los Recoditos will also take the stage at the awards.

The show, airing live on Telemundo and taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on October 9, will include more artists performances by Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda, Calibre 50, Los Inquietos del Norte and Roberto Junior y su Bandeño, all major players in the regional Mexican genre in the U.S. and beyond. The program will air at 7 p.m. ET (6 CT).

Finalists who will share the national spotlight for their contributions to music in the popular banda style include Roberto Tapia, Banda el Recodo, La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho and the late JenniRivera.

Bands being recognized for their work in norteño, music that originates from urban and rural areas in northern Mexico with accordion as the primary instrument, include Ortiz, Noel Torres, Voz de Mando, Pesado, Intocable and Calibre 50.

Several finalists known for their duranguense style include El Trono de Mexico, Roberto Junior y Su Bandeño, Tierra Cali, Conjunto Primavera, Los Temerarios and 3BallMTY.
