“We can’t wait to meet our BLINKs as soon as possible, but in order to comply with the Korean COVID-19 prevention guidelines and to ensure a safe performance, unfortunately, we have made the decision to postpone THE SHOW from December 27th until January 31st of next year,” Jisoo said in the clip.
Lisa added, "Through our concert, we wanted to give you some sort of comfort during these difficult times,” with Rosé saying, “But the most important thing is the health and safety of everyone taking part in THE SHOW. So, in order to make sure that we prepare for the concert in a safe environment, we have decided to postpone THE SHOW.”
Jennie thanked the nation's frontline workers, thanking them for taking care of the sick and working hard to disinfect and prevent the deadly pandemic that has infected more than 46,000 and killed 634 in the country to date.
The K-pop quartet initially announced the global YouTube livestream on Dec. 2, dedicating it to their diehard Blinks. “We wanted to end the year with something very special for our Blinks who have been waiting so patiently for us,” they said at the time in a statement. “We hope everyone can comfortably enjoy our first-ever livestream concert 'The Show' at home and hopefully join in on some special perks we’ve prepared for those who join our channel. Overall we’re super excited to share this fun moment with our Blinks and we can’t wait till 'The Show.'”
Blinks can watch the show by purchasing a paid subscription to Blackpink's official YT channel.
