K-Pop Star Chung Ha Is Self-Quarantining Following Positive Coronavirus Test

Chung Ha received a positive diagnosis for the novel coronavirus on Monday (Dec. 7).

According to Korean news outlet SPOTV News, the K-pop singer was tested after discovering she'd come in contact with an unnamed person who'd also come down with the virus.

Chung Ha's label, MNH Entertainment, released the following statement regarding the news on the former I.O.I member's online fan cafe: "This is MNH Entertainment. We are writing to notify you that our artist Chungha has tested positive for COVID-19. Chungha recently found out she had come into close contact with a confirmed case and voluntarily got tested, which turned out to be positive on the morning of December 7th.

"Chungha halted all of her activities and immediately went into self-quarantine, and she is acting in accordance with the government guidelines," the statement continued. The label also confirmed that all "artists, staff, and employees who have crossed paths with Chungha have been tested or will be tested, and we will follow up with the necessary measures once we confirm the results. The company will disinfect the entire company building and perform preemptive general testings to actively cooperate with government policies. We promise to do our best at managing all of our artists."

Following Chung Ha's positive test, JYP Entertainment also confirmed in a separate report that all nine members of Twice, as well as the girl group's staff, are being tested due to Sana having recently been in contact with her fellow K-pop star for dinner.

Following numerous single releases over the course of 2020 -- including "Stay Tonight" and the Changmo-assisted "Play" -- Chung Ha currently prepping the release of her debut solo album, Querencia.

The LP is set to be released Jan. 4, 2021 via MNH Entertainment.
