BTS Light Up 'Tonight Show' With Colorful 'Dynamite' Performance With Help From The Roots

Monday night (Sept. 28) was the kick-off of the K-pop superstars' weeklong residency.

BTS gave fans a little something old and a little something new on Monday (Sept. 28), the first night of their weeklong Tonight Show residency. Along with a run through the Love Yourself: Answer gem "Idol," RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook got an assist from house band The Roots on their No. 1 smash "Dynamite."

The remixed rendition, in which the fellas were isolated in colorful boxes Brady Bunch-style while members of the Roots beatboxed and host Jimmy Fallon added percussion via ping-pong paddles, gave the song an ever bigger gang vocals feel as drummer Questlove added some owlish hoots into the mix.

Fallon, however, might want to stretch next time before he tries the group's signature hip-swiveling moves.

"BTS Week," will feature a mixture of performances, chat and games as part of to the Nov. 20 release of BE (Deluxe Edition), the follow-up to 2020's Map of the Soul: 7.
