K-pop star Chen returned on Tuesday (Oct. 1) to start the month off with his second EP Dear My Dear, fronted by the single “Shall We?”

For his new release, the mellifluous vocalist turns to a slightly more upbeat feeling throughout Dear My Dear than on his prior release, with “Shall We?” fronting the project while evoking a sense of optimistic, retro soft-pop, almost city pop-like, balladry.

Throughout the rest of Chen’s second EP, the following five tracks are similarly overflowing with jazzy, heartfelt warmth and acoustic instrumentals wrapped in his lush tone. The singer co-wrote the album's second track, the rock-infused "My Dear.”

Chen’s album was released alongside a music video for “Shall We?” that features the soulful singer performing as cuts of a young couple’s relationship are interspersed, showing their sweet romance.

The 27-year-old has been a member of K-pop boy band EXO since 2012, and made his solo debut on the World Albums chart dated April 13, when April, and a Flower peaked at No. 3. These releases follow the EXO member’s first solo album April, and a Flower earlier this year.
