BLACKPINK Set to Perform On 'Good Morning America'
Next week will see BLACKPINK take Times Square by storm with an appearance on Good Morning America, the ABC morning show announced today (Feb. 5).
The K-pop quartet will appear during the GMA taping on Tuesday, Feb. 12, where they’ll perform on U.S. television for the first time. It precedes their upcoming appearances at Coachella in April and an upcoming Stateside tour.
BLACKPINK landed their Square Up EP at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 last year, and their hit “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” on the Hot 100 at No. 55. 2018 also saw their collab “Kiss and Make Up” with Dua Lipa peak at No. 93 on the latter chart. They became the first K-pop girl group to appear on the Hot 100 since Wonder Girls did so in 2009 with the English version of their hit 2008 song “Nobody.”
The group has proven immensely popular ever since their start in 2016 with the dual singles “Boombayah” and “Whistle." This year saw the music video for their song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” become the most-viewed one from a K-pop group on YouTube.
The foursome -- Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa -- will be in New York City for New York Fashion Week , which kicked off yesterday (Feb. 4) and will run through Feb. 13.
