BLACKPINK's 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' Becomes Most-Viewed Music Video From a K-Pop Group on YouTube

Seems like K-pop quartet BLACKPINK has hit YouTube with that “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.” As of Monday (Jan. 21), the girl group now has the top video on the site from a K-pop group.

“With 620.9 million views, BLACKPINK’s 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' is now the most-viewed music video by a K-pop group,” a YouTube spokesperson told Billboard on Tuesday (Jan. 22) afternoon. “BTS’ 'DNA' holds the No. 2 spot with 618.9 million views.” At time of publication, the video count for "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" currently sits at 621.5 million, while that of "DNA" is up to 619.6 million.

Psy's "Gangnam Style" remains the most-viewed video from a South Korean artist on YouTube, with over 3.2 billion views.

Since its release on June 15, the music video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” has averaged 2.5 million views per day while January’s daily views have averaged 1.95 million, according to YouTube.

BLACKPINK’s fierce trap-infused pop track debuted at No. 55 on the Hot 100 last year, the first song from a K-pop girl group to land on the chart since Wonder Girls’ English version of “Nobody” in 2008.

The K-pop act will play both weekends of Coachella in April, and are set to embark on a world tour that will reportedly feature North American concert dates.
