LeeSoRa and Suga of BTS have united for a sentimental collab titled "Song Request," out today (Jan. 22).

The track was written by Epik High’s Tablo, and is a reflective, jazzy ballad tune about seeking solace from heartbreak in songs played on the radio. Built upon gentle piano notes and lush violin strings, the mellow track offers a sense of both comfort and pain through the evocative tones of LeeSoRa’s verses and Suga’s rap.

The lyrics of "Song Request" were written by Tablo and Suga, and Tablo composed the track with Dee.p. The single was released alongside a music video that features a man and a woman listening to the radio and finding comfort in the song.

This is Lee and the BTS member’s first time collaborating, but not the first time she and the Epik High member collaborated; she featured on the song “Home” on Tablo’s 2011 solo album Fever’s End, Pt. 1.

Ahead of the song’s release, Tablo took to Twitter to share that he was “honored to write a song for LeeSoRa” and that he hopes “it gives many people comfort.” "Song Request" has been in the works for several years; the Epik High member previously referenced the song in an interview with Billboard in 2017.

“Song Request” follows several recent releases from Lee, including last month’s “Into My Heart” from the soundtrack of the K-drama Encounter and October’s “October Lover” with Roy Kim. The prominent South Korean singer has released multiple hits since the start of her career in 1995.
