RYEOWOOK, "I'm Not Over You"

Super Junior’s Kim Ryeowook returned Wednesday (Jan. 2) with the release of his poignant new song “I’m Not Over You.”

“I’m Not Over You” is a tender pop ballad that depicts the words one wants to say to a lover after a relationship ends. The sentimental tune is guided primarily by a gentle piano melody enhanced by melancholic strings before it builds to a pre-finale orchestral climax. Throughout, the K-pop star displays his crystaline tone, expressively changing pitch with each emotional shift of the lyrics.

The new single leads Ryeowook’s second EP, Drunk on Love, his first album as a soloist since returning to civilian life after completing his service in South Korea’s military last year. The EP was originally meant to be released in December, but due to the artist getting sick it came out in full on Wednesday. It was preceded by the release of the song “One and Only” in November and features two tracks co-written by the singer, the slow burn of "Drunk in the Morning” and the sweet "The 2nd Story."

Drunk on Love is the Super Junior member’s second solo EP, following 2016's The Little Prince, which peaked at No. 5 on the World Albums chart dated Feb. 13 of that year.
