Henry Lau, formerly of SM Entertainment and Super Junior-M, has signed with AXIS, a new company in South Korea dedicated to approaching the industry in a creative manner.

Lau, who was raised in Canada and goes monomously by his first name, was introduced as a member of Super Junior-M, the Mandarin-oriented team under the Super Junior umbrella, in 2007. Along with his activities in the group, he has gone on to pursue a career as a solo singer-songwriter, actor and television personality in both South Korea and China, and has been active in other countries throughout Asia. He most recently released tri-lingual versions of the single “Monster” in February.

AXIS is a creative platform in South Korea founded by producer SINXITY, the former creative director of YG Entertainment, home of BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, CL and many other popular artists. AXIS will act as Lau's music label, following his departure from SM Entertainment earlier this year. He is now label mates with KATIE

According to AXIS, Lau plans to release new music in the first half of 2019.

“With a music label partnership with AXIS, we will help Henry further develop his musical ambitions,” his management team, Monster Entertainment group, said in a statement.

Throughout his career, Henry saw two EPs on the World Albums chart, with Trap peaking at No. 3 on the chart dated June 22, 2013. His second, 2014's EP, peaked at No. 6.
