The five-city trek marks a rare Stateside showing for female K-pop acts.

With a handful of No. 1 Billboard albums and multiple visits in the U.S., Red Velvet have already established themselves as one of the leading K-pop girl groups in America, and now the quintet look to make good on that promise with a full-fledged tour.

Announced by SubKulture Entertainment on Nov. 2, Red Velvet will take their RedMare world tour to the United States with five dates as their first Stateside live trek. Starting in early February 2019, the fivesome will kick off in Los Angeles and pop around the country before wrapping in mid-February in the Tri-State area. So far, the ladies have taken the RedMare show to their native Seoul as well as held dates in Bangkok, Tapei and Singapore. SubKulture previously held Red Velvet's Chicago fan meet-up in April this year, the band's first solo appearance in America.

Significantly, the tour also marks a rare moment for a female K-pop act to bring their live show to the States. The last female from the scene to hold a tour with multiple dates came from CL with her fall 2016 Hello Bitches tour while the last girl group came via Apink's North American Pink Memory tour from January of that year.

All in all, the 2019 tour marks an exciting move for both Red Velvet and for more female representation as the K-pop scene continues to grow its impact Stateside.
