NCT 127 to Premiere English-Language 'Regular' on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
K-pop boy band NCT 127 are set to release their new single “Regular” in both Korean and English versions, and they’re going to be premiering the latter on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The 10-member act will perform the song on Live!'s outdoor concert stage on Oct. 8. It will be their first Stateside late-night show appearance, and will kick-off their participation in Apple Music’s Up Next artist spotlight series, which showcases new and emerging artists. In the past, Up Next has highlighted the likes of Khalid, Billie Eilish, Bazzi and Bad Bunny. The taping for Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s outdoor mini-concert featuring NCT 127 is currently sold-out.
“Regular” will be released in both language variants on the group’s upcoming Regular-Irregular album, which will be out on Oct. 12. It will mark the first time NCT 127 has released a single in both Korean and English, though they have performed Stateside on multiple occasions including this summer’s KCON 2018 NY.
It’s been over a year since the group’s first solo show in the U.S, held at an Apple Store in Brooklyn last summer. During it, NCT 127 American member Johnny told Billboard that NCT could “See K-pop moving forward” in the States and around the globe, and that he and his bandmates are “very proud to be a part of it.”
NCT 127 is the Seoul-oriented group under SM Entertainment’s modular boy band NCT. They most recently released the single “Touch,” which was part of the NCT 2018 Empathy album. They have seen four albums break into the Top 10 of the World Albums chart, and topped it last year with Limitless. Regular-Irregular is the first NCT 127 album since the group added member Jungwoo last month.
The group also will participate in ABC’s Mickey Mouse’s 90th Spectacular special, set to air on Nov. 4. The event will also feature the likes of Josh Groban, Meghan Trainor and Zac Brown Band.
