BTS Try the 'Fortnite Dance Challenge,' Chat with Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show': Watch
In a big week bookended by a speech at the UN and two sold-out concerts, BTS took some time to chat and dance with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
In his opening monologue, Fallon introduced BTS as “The biggest boy band on the planet,” and then, after a brief fan chant led by the ARMY sitting in the audience, the host showed a clip during which he and the seven members -- RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, V, and Suga -- partook in the “Fortnite Dance Challenge.” The eight danced iconic moves such as the Electric Shuffle, The Worm and the Robot, and were then mimicked by characters from the video game. BTS also showed Fallon some of the moves to "Idol.”
During the interview portion of the show, BTS’ members and Fallon talked about their time in NYC, their tour, and speaking at the UN.
"I was like so nervous,” said RM, regarding his speech. “I was holding up the paper and you could see my hands shaking." He also talked about the message of "Speak Yourself." "It's mainly about speaking yourself, like, instead of letting other people speak for you 'cause to truly love ourselves it's important to firstly know who I am, and you know, where I'm from, and what my name is, what my voice is, kinda like that."
The Wednesday night episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon followed the premiere of the latest season of NBC's This Is Us and began with a brief appearance by Mandy Moore, and also featured an interview with Empire’s Taraji P. Henson.
The Tonight Show appearance will be followed by the group’s appearance on Good Morning America. BTS will perform two sold-out shows at Newark’s Prudential Center on Sept. 28-29, and then return to the Tri-State Area for a historic sold-out stadium show at Citi Field.
