The youngest BIGBANG member wrapped the Korean leg of his first solo trek on Aug. 19.

Even as the youngest member of K-pop commercial juggernaut BIGBANG, Seungri has forged and built an empire all his own during his 13 years in the industry. The superstar has become known as a thriving entrepreneur with business ventures in food, nightlife and music labels, but the 27-year-old has recently put his side hustles on hold to return to what made him famous -- not to mention rich -- in the first place: music.

In the absence of his BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T.O.P (who are all currently serving in the Korean military for their two-year mandatory enlistment), the star released his long-awaited solo full-length, The Great Seungri, on July 20. The nine-track album reminded fans that at the heart of all the star's accomplishments, there is Seungri of BIGBANG a.k.a. an ambitious creative with a soulful tone and killer dance moves who is just as eager as his band mates to make an artistic musical statement of his own.

Thanks to the success of his new album -- which earned rave reviews, a No. 3 peak on Billboard's World Albums chart, a hit on the K-Pop Hot 100, and millions of views on its official music videos for "1, 2,3!" and "Where R U From" -- Seungri launched his first-ever solo tour, The Great Seungri tour, in Seoul. The tour kicked off in the city's Jang Chung Gymnasium on Aug. 4 for two dates, before making stops in Daegu and Busan, mesmerized thousands of attendees with his animated and sophisticated charm, creative skits and powerful performance skills, all to prove he can work the stage totally solo.

Showing the full extent of his ambitions, Seungri will take his tour to Japan next month with the next leg beginning on Sept. 5 at Kokusai Center in Fukuoka before wrapping up on Dec. 16 at Intex in Osaka -- the last two shows being added due to high demand. The already sold-out trek is expected to draw more than 100,000 fans.

With a tireless work ethic and elevated pop appeal, The Great Seungri Tour proves that 2018 might be the year the young BIGBANG star elevates his status, finally earning the spotlight and respect he deserves as an acclaimed musician all his own.
