Tickets for BTS’ first-ever U.S. stadium show sold out Friday (Aug. 17), with the band’s loyal ARMY buying out New York City’s Citi Field in a matter of minutes after tickets went on sale.
Though the exact time tickets became unavailable has not yet been confirmed, at 5:06 p.m. ET, just an hour and six minutes after the ticketing opened at 4 p.m., Citi Field’s Twitter account posted that tickets were sold out. “Thank you, #BTSArmy!” says the post. “Due to overwhelming demand, tickets are no longer available for the @bts_bighit show at this time. We hope to see you on Oct. 6th.”
BTS' label, Big Hit Entertainment, later told Billboard that the tickets sold out in 20 minutes.
