The song was originally released by YB's Yoon Do-hyun in 1994.

On Thursday (June 7), Jin of BTS released a solo cover of a popular South Korean song from the '90s as part of the Korean group’s fifth-year anniversary celebrations.

“In Front of the Post Office in Autumn” was originally released in 1994 by Yoon Do-hyun, who went on to front the popular band YB. Jin’s remake of the song was uploaded to BTS’ SoundCloud account as part of the chart-topping act’s annual BTS Festa, and serves as the “Interlude Ceremony” of the event.

Jin’s version of “In Front of the Post Office in Autumn” updated the song to add a more folk rock lead-in, introducing an acoustic guitar and harmonica before delving into the second half of the song’s explosive climax.

Jin’s cover comes amid the 2018 BTS Festa celebration, which has seen the group previously release alternate versions of other songs. Along with “In Front of the Post Office In Autumn,” the act has also released variants of other songs, a variety of images and videos, and other content through which fans could commemorate the event.

BTS has celebrated its anniversary each June since their first in 2014, marking their June 13, 2013, start. As part of last year’s anniversary celebrations, V and RM released the original song “4 O’Clock,” Jungkook and Jimin shared a cover of Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and Suga, Jin and Jungkook dropped an alternate version of “So Far Away,” originally released on Suga’s Agust D album with Suran.

“In Front of the Post Office in Autumn” is Jin’s first solo track uploaded to the group’s joint SoundCloud since December 2016, when he released a Christmastime version of his song “Awake,” originally released earlier that year on the septet’s Wings album.
