It’s only been a few weeks since EXO-CBX dished out their Blooming Days Korean EP, and now they’re back with a new Japanese single, “Horololo.” The new track precedes the trio's first Japanese LP Magic, which will be released on May 9.

Moving away from the sentimental funk of “Blooming Day,” the three EXO members serve up a jocularly dance track full of playful moments with “Horololo.” Propulsive beats and woozy synths fade in and out as the trio chant the titular chorus and deliver smooth singsong raps. It’s festive and dynamic, and the sort of playful sound EXO-CBX have distinguished themselves with in the past.

The music video for “Horololo” features Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin as detectives investigating, and playing around, as they sing and dance along to the sharp, body-popping choreography. Looks-wise, the trio switch off between dapper suits and casual looks as they stare down the camera with dramatic gazes. The video, like the song itself, ends on a playful note: After the trio sing their seemingly final "horololo," Baekhyun lets out a little laugh and declares "it ain't over yet" before coming back with one more bombastic repetition of the titular phrase.

“Horololo” is one of eight new songs set to be released on Magic. The album will also feature solo tracks from each of the EXO members.
