Another 18 K-pop stars will be heading to KCON 2018 NY this June. On Thursday (April 19), KCON USA announced the addition of Korean boy bands Stray Kids and NCT 127 to the East Coast leg of its annual Korean pop cultural event. The pair join previously announced acts Wanna One, Heize and EXID at the event, which will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on June 23-24.
The 2018 event will mark NCT 127’s second appearance at KCON NY after their debut last year, and it will be Stray Kids’ first Stateside appearance. Both are nine-member boy bands.
Part of SM Entertainment’s larger NCT crew, 127 represents the Seoul-based team and features members from Korea, China, Japan, Canada and the U.S. Known for their dynamic performance-based songs, such as “Cherry Bomb” and “Fire Truck,” the nonet performed at both KCON NY and KCON LA in 2018. NCT 127 most recently returned with the upbeat and playful “Touch” off of the NCT 2018 Empathy album, which peaked at No. 29 on the Independent Albums chart last month.
