Label Head Confirms New Music Coming from K-Pop Girl Group BlackPink

Since their start in 2016, Korean girl group BlackPink has drawn a lot of attention and it seems like 2018 is going to be gifted with some new music from the act. On March 20, the head of the quartet’s label took to Instagram and confirmed that the K-pop act had finished recording and were in the middle of preparations to drop new music.

Uploading a light pink square to Instagram, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk and hashtagged the girl group, before confirming that they were "Done With Recording.” He also said that they are planning "To Make Come Back Soon," hinting to a new promotional cycle for the foursome.

Yang gave no hint regarding a timeline for BlackPink's upcoming release.

Though they only have ever put out five songs, the group has regularly topped charts with their hits, leading K-pop music watchers to eagerly been anticipate new BlackPink music. Their songs have appeared on multiple occasions in American media, including the Justice League film, and they are immensely popular on social media, leading to regular appearances on Billboard's Social 50 chart.  

Along with posting about Blackpink, Yang also spent the past few days on Instagram discussing BIGBANG's "Flower Road" and the band's recent enlistment, as well as their music video for "Bang Bang Bang" achieving over 300 million views.

BlackPink is the only girl group currently signed to YG Entertainment. The label rose to fame in the late 2000s as the home to BIGBANG and 2NE1, and currently also features the likes of Epik High, WINNER, CL, and iKON under its roster.
