SZA has toyed with the idea of retiring from music once before, when she tweeted (then deleted) "I actually quit" in 2016. Despite the success of her debut album CTRL, SZA hasn't completely dismissed an early retirement, and in a new interview with Flaunt, she revealed that her next album might be her last one.
While she's confident she won't fall victim to a sophomore slump, SZA says she's "still miserable."
"My world got so much smaller so fast. I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage," she told Flaunt. She continued, "I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that... because it’s going to be my last album" -- but apparently she delivered the news with a smile, which suggested she may or may not be serious about quitting.
