It's their first Japanese-language single.
Twice is known for hitting that sweet spot between quirky and catchy. After snagging the No. 18 spot on Billboard's 21 Under 21 list, they’re back with a music video for their first Japanese single, “One More Time.”
The song enlists some '90s electronica vibes that deviate from the EDM that’s been taking over K-pop lately, with a combination of the blaring synths and loud bass that sounds like Sleigh Bells-meets-Eurodance until member Tzuyu briefly sings in autotune at the bridge and brings the sound back to the present.
The music video stays pretty faithful to the teasers as the nine member K-pop girl group takes on a block color-coated sports concept. In a fun tennis match scene, Nayeon towers over Jihyo with her cartoonish jumping that some fans likened to sports animes like Prince of Tennis. Meanwhile, Chaeyoung and Dahyun’s boxing ring face off brings some absurdity with exaggerated punches that culminates with the girls dancing behind Jeongyeon the referee.
