GOT7 attend KCON 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Aug. 20, 2017.

With much of South Korea off on holiday since last week for Chuseok, a three-day holiday which began today, K-pop’s reached a lull in its release schedule for the moment. But things won’t stay that way for long, with the Korean music industry heating up heavily in the next few weeks as many popular acts have already unveiled plans to drop new releases.

Beginning on Oct. 10, popular boy bands GOT7 and Nu’Est W will be making their returns with new albums. The former, a multinational septet with a strong global fanarmy, has been hyping up their upcoming 7 For 7 EP with videos on YouTube and Instagram, including a recently released short clip teasing the lyrics of their song "You Are."

Meanwhile, the latter is a rebranded Nu’Est, sans member Minhyun who is taking a break from his main act to participate in the temporary group Wanna One. The group will drop their new album W, Here also on Oct. 10, fresh off the reinvigorating second-wind that the group's career felt when members participated and rose through popularity in the Korean survival show Produce 101.

The following two days will see prominent vocal duo Davichi celebrate their 10th anniversary with new music on Oct. 11, while Ha:tfelt, also known as Yeeun or Yenny formerly of Wonder Girls, returns as a soloist for the first time since her groundbreaking 2014 EP Me?

Oct. 16 will see competition from two former labelmates, when both Highlight, formerly known as BEAST, and BTOB drop new albums on the same day. Highlight's second EP Celebrate will be released to coincide with the band's eighth anniversary since debuting as BEAST, while BTOB will release their second album Brother Act, their first release since March's Feel'Em EP.

Two days later, K-pop’s current darlings TWICE will head over to Japan with their first ever original Japanese single, “One More Time.”

The last week of October will see a return of two classic acts: Epik High will release their first new album since 2014’s Shoebox while NRG, an old-school ‘90s and early ‘00s K-pop act, will return with their first album in over a decade on the 28th to coincide with their 20th anniversary.

Several other acts have also confirmed new music for October, including SF9, EXO's Lay, UP10TION, DIA, and Wheesung.

November will also be busy, with Super Junior and Seventeen each dropping new music on the sixth, followed by a new release from Monsta X on the seventh.
