BTS Expresses Gratitude Through BBMAs-Referencing 'Love Yourself: Her' Track List

Less than a week until the release of their new album, K-pop boy band BTS dropped the track list for Love Yourself: Her, and one song puts the spotlight on the Billboard Music Awards.

On Tuesday (Sept. 12), the septet uploaded images of Her’s track list to social media. The nine-song album includes “Best of Me,” co-written by Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers, and a skit subtitled “Billboard Music Awards Speech,” referencing Rap Monster’s speech in May when the boy band won the Top Social Artist award at the BBMAs.

After beating out the likes of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, BTS won the Top Social Artist award on May 21 and thanked their fans for their support. In his speech, Rap Monster asked fans to “love yourself,” a possible allusion to the new conceptual series.

Like previous albums by the act, Love Yourself: Her features an intro, outro, and a mid-track skit. It kicks off with "Intro: Serendipity," which was revealed last week through a comeback trailer, and includes songs titled "DNA, "Best of Me," "보조개" (unofficial translation: "Dimple"), "Pied Piper" "Skit: Billboard Music Awards Speech," "MIC Drop," "고민보다 Go" (unofficial translation: "Go Before Worries")," and "Outro: Her.”

The Love Yourself: Her album is the first of what is expected to be an extended series, similar to previous thematic eras from the group. It follows after the Wings era, which saw BTS become the highest-ranked K-pop act on the Billboard 200 and become the first Korean boy band to receive a BBMA.

Prior to its release on Sept. 18, Her received over 1.05 million pre-orders according to the band’s management Big Hit Entertainment. The album will be released in four different versions: “L,” “O,” “V,” and “E.”

Hours before releasing the tracklist BTS performed with The Chainsmokers in Seoul, despite ongoing controversy over social media after the American act posted a racist video while touring in Asia.
