BTS celebrate a major chart accomplishment as their new album enters the Billboard 200 and tops several other Billboard rankings in the process.

The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2 debuts at No. 171 on the Billboard 200 with 5,000 copies sold. The Billboard 200 charts ranks the week's most popular albums based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track-equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming-equivalent albums (SEA). Meanwhile, Pt. 2 starts at No. 98 on Top Current Albums, which tracks the best-selling albums across all genres, ranked solely by sales data.

The boy band's chart achievement is notable as BTS is the first K-pop act to send an entry to the Billboard 200 that is not under YG Entertainment or SM Entertainment -- which are considered the two biggest record labels in South Korea. Previously, the only acts to enter the chart had been EXO, EXO-KBoAGirls' Generation and Girls' Generation-TTS (all artists under SM), along with 2NE1, BIGBANG, Taeyang and G-Dragon (YG artists). BTS is under BigHit Entertainment, a smaller label that is also the home of 2AM member Lee Changmin.

Pt. 2 also hit new peaks by hitting No. 1 on both Heatseekers Albums (where the band had previously topped out at No. 6 with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1) and World Albums (where Pt. 1 peaked at No. 2).

The Billboard victories cap off a breakout year for BTS that included their first sizable hits in their native Korea and two sold-out U.S. tours. The new charts featuring BTS' accomplishments will be posted in full to Billboard's websites on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
