KCON 2014: CNBLUE, Girls' Generation, BTS Announced for K-Pop Festival

Get to know the acts performing at the L.A. convention's biggest lineup ever

UPDATE: K-pop rock outfit CNBLUE is the latest act set to play KCON 2014, the U.S.-based K-pop convention hitting Los Angeles in August. 

The band recently played two U.S. dates on their world tour, hitting New York and Los Angeles in January. At their NYC stop, the band quintet told Billboard, "We promise to come back and provide strength through our music" with this news proving the guys stayed true to their word.

In February 2013, CNBLUE's "Re:BLUE: CNBLUE 4th Mini Album" EP hit No. 1 on the World Albums chart while their most recent release, the "Can't Stop" EP, peaked at No. 6 on the World Albums last March. The group has racked up four K-Pop Hot 100 Top 10 singles, including "Can't Stop" that peaked at No. 8 in February.

After announcing late last week that KCON would grow to two night of concerts, America's largest K-pop convention revealed two major artists sure to excite fans stateside. Girls' Generation and BTS will hit downtown Los Angeles this August.

While Girls' Generation haven't performed in the U.S. since 2012, the phenoms have consistently proven themselves as one of America's favorite K-pop acts. In March, the girls' new EP "Mr. Mr." charted at No. 110 on the Billboard 200, earning them the second higest-charting K-pop album to date.

Plus, in 2013, the ninesome's "I Got a Boy" video was the most-watched K-pop vid in America other than PSY, helping the group win Video of the Year at the innagural YouTube Music Awards. 

With less than a year under their belts, BTS (aka Bangtan Boys) have made waves in America too. The boy band saw their "Skool Luv Affair" album jet to No. 3 on Billboard's World Albums chart a well as their single "Boy in Luv" (below) to No. 5 on the World Digital Songs. 

After featuring 11 acts last year, KCON has promised even more artists so stay tuned for more announcements. 

KCON 2014 will hit downtown Los Angeles on Aug. 9 and 10.
