"I safely delivered a pretty daughter in eight hours through home birth," the K-pop star tweeted.

Sun, the leader of K-pop girl group Wonder Girls, and husband James Park have welcomed their first child, a daughter, the singer announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

The K-pop star revealed she safely delivered her newborn via a home birth in Canada. Other details have not been disclosed at this time.

A translation reads: "Thanks to everybody's prayers and support, I safely delivered a pretty daughter in eight hours through home birth ^^ I also really, really want to thank you for the presents congratulating her birth...!!!!  I will raise her well so she is healthy ^^" along with a four-photo montage of the newborn's profile, feet and hands.

Last week, Wonder Girls shared photos from Sun's baby shower that indicated the couple decided on Hailey for her English name. No official word regarding on the baby's name or weight has been announced yet.

The 24-year-old Seoul native announced she was three months into her pregnancy in April. She met her Canadian-Korean husband on a charity mission trip to Haiti in 2010 and dated for two years before their wedding last January.

After Sun's wedding, Wonder Girls performed one last time at a Special Olympics concert before going on hiatus as a group. A rep told Billboard that Wonder Girls are "still together for the time being with no official decisions made about future performances."

Wonder Girls stand as one of the few Korean acts to chart on Billboard's Hot 100 with "Nobody." . Since the K-Pop Hot 100's August 2011 creation, the quintet has earned two No. 1s with "Be My Baby" and "Like This." Their most recent attempt to crack stateside was with the Akon-assisted synth-pop single "Like Money."
