Lil Kim attends the 21st BET Awards at L.A. Live on June 27, 2021 in Los Angeles.

On Sunday night's (June 27) 2021BET Awards pre-show red carpet Lil' Kim revealed that she wants to go up against Nicki Minaj in the next Verzuz battle. Following on the heels of the epic Soulja Boy vs. Bow Wow battle on Saturday night, Kim said she's ready to go to verbal war with Nicki.

"Not going to say who against, but would you do a Verzuz?" red carpet host DJ Envy asked Kim on the carpet. "Yes," she answered enthusiastically. "Is there anybody that you'd do it against? Or are you just ready for anybody?," he responded.

"Nicki," Kim said confidently as Envy said they too would love to see that. "Yes, me too," she said. After the colorful, playful back-and-forth between Soulja and Bow Wow in the run-up to their weekend showdown, fans got revved up for the thought of the two titanic female rappers possibly going head-to-head.

The two women have already traded barbs a number of times over the years, with Kim taking a direct shot at Nicki by dropping the Black Friday mixtape around the time Nicki dropped her Nov. 2010 Pink Friday debut album, in which she cubbed Minaj a "wannabe" and "Lil' Kim clone." Fans also thought a number of songs on the album -- "Roman's Revenge" and "Stupid Hoe" and the 2011 diss track "Tragedy" -- which are all though to be about Kim.

The pair continued to trade shade over the years and even though they are not the kind of contemporaries that have typified the series so far, with a number of tweets suggesting that a more appropriate rival for Kim would be Foxy Brown, their fans are definitely here for it.

At press time it appeared Minaj had not responded to the challenge.
