Cardi B Responds to Olivia Rodrigo Praise, Tells Her to Ignore 'Toxic Sh--'

The love between Cardi B and Olivia Rodrigo keeps flowing.

Rodrigo recently sang Cardi's praises in an Apple Music interview, saying the rapper's bold songwriting helps inspire her own musical vulnerability. "She gives me courage to sort of say whatever I want to say and be honest in telling my story," Rodrigo says, adding that she feels "lucky to be a teenager at the time when Cardi is making music."

On Wednesday (April 21), Cardi responded to Billboard's tweet about Rodrigo's new interview, noting that the "Drivers License" singer's words were "so sweet."

"You doing sooo good for your age," Cardi tweeted, adding some advice going forward in the music industry. "Don’t let no toxic shit get to you and don’t let nobody restrict you from your voice."

In a second tweet, Cardi mused, "People will hate you because of the way other people love you." It's not clear whether that sentiment has anything to do with the recent Olivia lovefest.

Rodrigo is set to release her debut album, Sour, in May.
