Quavo Says He Will Pick Up Bobby Shmurda From Prison When Released: Exclusive

"It's gonna be big," Quavo adds of what he expects from Shmurda's comeback to hip-hop. Shmurda was originally arrested back in December 2014 alongside several of his GS9 running mates including rapper Rowdy Rebel on conspiracy to murder, weapons possession and reckless endangerment charges.

Prior to his arrest, Shmurda and Migos were working on a joint mixtape titled Shmigo Gang. Quavo then teased another collaboration in the stash at the end of 2019.

Shmurda ultimately took a plea deal for 4th-degree conspiracy and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession charges along with a seven-year sentence. The "Hot N*gga" rapper was also denied parole in September 2020.

Quavo has long been a fan of the Brooklyn drill rap scene, as he took Pop Smoke under his wing prior to his passing. The duo connected on tracks such as "West Coast Shit," "Shake the Room," and "Aim for the Moon."
