Of course it samples Notorious B.I.G.'s "Who Shot Ya?"
Perhaps you thought Megan Thee Stallion wasn't going to address the Tory Lanez shooting incident on her just-released debut studio album, Good News? C'mon. The rapper charges out of the gate guns blazing on the Buddha Bless-produced album opener "Shots Fired," which cleverly samples one of the all-time get-back diss tracks, Notorious B.I.G.'s 1995 Tupac-baiting "Who Shot Ya?"
Meg has dropped other songs this year, but none that directly addressed the July incident in which Lanez allegedly shot her twice in the foot after the two were leaving a Hollywood party together; Lanez pleaded not guilty to a felony assault charge in the incident this week. The opening lines of the spare, big bounce track make it clear Meg is here to air some things out.
