Busta Rhymes has been hitting the gym hard ahead of his new album.

The 48-year-old hip-hop star took to Instagram on Friday (Oct. 23) to share before-and-after photos of his dramatic weight loss and impressive new muscular physique.

Rhymes, who is gearing up for the Oct. 30 release of his upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, says he's "in the best shape" of his life. The forthcoming set marks his first album in eight years.

“DON’T EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF,” the rapper captioned the photos. “LIFE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!!! MY DEDICATION IS DIFFERENT!! I WOULD NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM AND NOT BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!! I RESPECT MYSELF TOO MUCH AND I RESPECT Y’ALL TOO MUCH!!! I’M ONLY HERE TO INSPIRE!!"

Rhymes also thanked several individuals who helped him achieve his fitness goals, including celebrity trainer Victor Munoz and bodybuilders Dexter "The Blade" Jackson, Victor Martinez and Kai Greene.

Producer Swizz Beatz congratulated Rhymes on his transformation, commenting on the photo, "I’m so proud of you King!!!!! It’s your time King !! The Deans Love you!!!"

Earlier in the week, Rhymes joined Fat Joe on Instagram Live where the two rap icons chatted about music and the upcoming elections. During the conversation, Rhymes also challenged his good friend T.I. to a Verzuz battle.

T.I. has declined the challenge, saying that the generational gap is too big between them for a proper face-off on Verzuz.
