Kanye West has shared a touching congratulatory message to Kamala Harris, who was recently selected by Joe Biden as his running mate for the 2020 presidential election.
"I know my mom and Kamala Harris would have been friends ... congratulations on being the democratic Vice President nominee ... all love and respect from the future president," the 43-year-old rapper and presidential hopeful tweeted on Saturday (Aug. 14). "It’s an honor to run against you."
This is the first time West has publicly commented on Biden's pick for VP, which marks the first Black, Asian American woman on a major party presidential ticket. Following the Aug. 11 announcement, numerous artists celebrated Harris' nomination, including Taylor Swift, John Legend, Katy Perry and Demi Lovato.
