Interscope, BMG React to the Loss of Juice WRLD: 'He Was a Gentle Soul'

The music world at large is reeling in the wake of the tragic passing of Juice WRLD, who died suddenly at the age of 21 on Sunday (Dec. 8).

Many of his friends, fans and colleagues -- including Drake, Chance The Rapper, Benny Blanco and more -- have expressed their grief and shared fond memories of the "Lucid Dreams" rapper across social media, and his label, Interscope, has released a statement remembering the late "gentle soul."

Interscope Geffen A&M Records have shared the following with Billboard

Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time. He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else. To lose someone so kind and so close to our hearts is devastating. Our thoughts are with Juice’s family and friends, everyone at his label Grade A, and his millions of fans around the world.

Juice WRLD -- a.k.a. Jarad Anthony Higgins -- signed with Interscope in 2018. He released his first no. 1 album, Death Race for Love, through Grade A/Interscope on March 8, 2019.

The artist's publishing company, BMG, issued the following statement:

Juice WRLD is one of the most ambitious, dynamic, and prolific artists of his time, with a unique style all his own. Above all, as a person, he was kind, thoughtful, and generous. He had a vibrant soul, an authenticity full of energy, love, curiosity and music. We admire him as the person he was, as much as the person he was becoming. What he accomplished and achieved in such a short time, and at such a young age, is nothing short of extraordinary. We are absolutely devastated and mourn the loss of a young bright star gone far too soon.

Our utmost heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fans, Grade A and everyone he touched and inspired around the world. Juice WRLD forever.
