J.I. the Prince of NY is going major. The Brooklyn native announced Friday that he's inked a deal with Interscope Records, which comes packaged as a partneship with G*STARR ENT.
"We was signed to the streets before a major label," J.I. captioned a post making his move to Interscope official. "I hadda turn the streets up a notch. Interscope believes in the kid. I’m proud to announce I’m the newest artist on their roster ... 2020 ours??"
The burgeoning 18-year-old rhymer celebrated signing the deal with his fans by dropping off the steamy "Love Won't Change" video, which originally landed on his Hood Life Crisis, Vol. 1 project last month. The warmhearted clip finds J.I. letting his love interest know that he'll always be her ride-or-die, as the visual flashes back to some of the good times they had together as a couple.
