Here's What Lil Nas X Was Doing When He Found Out He Broke the Billboard Hot 100 Record With 'Old Town Road'

In this episode of "My Billboard Moment," Lil Nas X reflects on how it felt to break a huge chart record with his hit song “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.

His song, after earning its 17th week atop the Hot 100 chart, broke the record of longest-leading No. 1, previously held jointly by "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day."

“The moment I broke the record for No. 1, I was at a cafe, eating some good breakfast,” Lil Nas X recalls.

“I was just like, ‘Wow.’ Did an evil laugh, but playfully, but then it was just like a realization kinda moment that I had finally reached an unspeakable goal, that I wasn't even aiming for initially.”
