XXXTentacion Posthumously Releases Guitar-Laden 'Hearteater': Listen

Jack McKain

XXXTentacion's estate released another single heading toward the release of his posthumous Bad Vibes Forever album, which is expected before 2019 ends. The guitar-laden "Hearteater" arrived on Tuesday (Oct. 22). X's ex-girlfriend, Geneva Ayala, who accused him of abusing her back in 2016, is featured in the song's artwork and forthcoming music video.

"I’ll include my ex in a weird way. I feel like tying her into it makes the video amazing, and it-it almost, like, really captures everyone’s minds and gives me the power that I truly deserve," X can be heard saying in a recorded voice memo from April of 2018. The "Sad!" rapper's manager, Solomon Sobande, said it took a who's who of industry professionals to finally bring the track to completion.

“A lot of records, like ‘School Shooter’ featuring Lil Wayne or ‘Hearteater,’ Jahseh saved for this point in his career when he was more established, so they would be better received,” he told Billboard in August. “A lot of things he had worked on, almost complete ideas, weren’t finished maybe [they] only had one verse and a hook or only a beat. To fill out those songs, a who’s who of the music industry came out to help us.”

Keep an eye out for the visual dropping on Friday (Oct. 25). For now, listen to X's crooning on the stripped down "Hearteater" below.
