On the heels of releasing her record-breaking debut album Over It, Summer Walker stopped by the NPR office for the latest installment of their Tiny Desk Concert series, which released Friday (Oct. 18).
Donning all gray and studded oval shades that Elton John would love, Walker kicked off the stirring medley with raw fan favorites "Session 32" and "Wasted." With the help of her sizzling live band, she moved into more mainstream tracks such as "Girls Need Love" and "Playing Games."
"Look, I'm really freaking excited to be here, but I have social anxiety like a motherf---er," Waler said after the performance. "I'm freaked the hell out, I'm sweating, but this is so exciting for me. I watch this show all the time."
Summer's Over It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, as the project broke Beyoncé’s Lemonade record for the largest streaming week of all-time for an R&B album by a woman artist.
