Megan Thee Stallion Apologizes, Says She 'Still Tried to Perform' Before ACL Music Festival Set Cancellation

Megan Thee Stallion didn't take the stage during the second weekend of the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Saturday (Oct. 12) in spite of her efforts to "still perform" after she missed her scheduled set time.

Fans hit social media complaining about the last-minute programming change shortly after the festival canceled her performance, which was to start at 1:15 p.m. on the Miller Lite stage in Austin's Zilker Park. The rapper addressed her absence on Twitter early Sunday morning (Oct. 13) and indicated she wants to make it up to her Austin fans ASAP.

"I did not make it in time from my show in another state the night before," she tweeted. "I tried to still perform and they just told me my set was cancelled. I will do a make up show for my atx hotties soon."

A representative for ACL Music Festival tells Billboard that Megan "did not leave her hotel until after her scheduled time and didn’t arrive on time to perform." When a disappointed fan commented on the cancelation, Megan remorsefully replied that she "didn't make it exactly on time" and "things happen."

Her next show is set to take place at San Antonio's Mala Luna music festival on Oct. 26.

Megan Thee Stallion wasn't the only act whose time at ACL Music Festival didn't go according to plan: The Cure's bassist Simon Gallup had to miss out on their headlining set on Saturday night due to a "serious personal situation" that forced him to return to the U.K.
