Emotional Oranges

Ever had that one friend who just always had to butt their heads into your business -- especially when it came to your relationship? Well, Emotional Oranges, the mysterious L.A.-based duo causing a ripple with its breezy R&B tunes, know that aggravating feeling all too well.

"Your Best Friend Is A Hater," a new single that targets all the naysayers out there, is premiering on Billboard today (Sept. 27). It's a play on masculine and feminine energies, as one side is fed up with his girlfriend's BFF while the other is tired of him using it as an excuse for his fuck ups. "Watch yourself boy, you got too much pride / Fall back / Please don't shake me with those psycho eyes," the pair sings over a mellowed, bass-heavy melody.

"Everyone has that hater ass friend who always has something negative to say!" the duo tells Billboard. "We were really inspired by Avant's 'Makin' Good Love' at the time and it felt like the perfect energy to build the track around."

"Your Best Friend Is A Hater" follows "Just Like You" and "Don't Be Lazy," all of which are featured on Emotional Oranges' forthcoming The Juice Vol. II EP (out on Nov. 8 via Avant Garden).
