Rapsody is gearing up to unleash her third studio album, Eve, come Aug. 23. The effort is set to follow 2017's Grammy-nominated Laila's Wisdom. The North Carolina native unveiled Eve's track list on Friday (Aug. 9), which was conceptually built to pay homage to trailblazing black women that came before her.

"I'm influenced by so many black women. A lot of people already know I'm heavily influenced by Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte, and Queen Latifah," she told Beats 1. "It's just not all or nothing for me. I'm an extension of them, so every song is going to be a different woman and different energy of what makes Rapsody who she is."

Rapsody salutes a range of powerful women that includes the late Aaliyah, Serena Williams, Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and more. "This album is coming out in a time where we're really talking about what it means to be a black woman in America, and black women are really riding to the forefront in a lot things that we do," the Roc Nation signee relayed to NPR

There is no shortage of features on Eve, which boasts a guest lineup of Queen Latifah, J. Cole, J.I.D., Elle Varner, SiRD'Angelo, K Roosevelt, Leikeli 47, Mereba, PJ Morton, and GZA.
