Ye Ali Exudes Swagger On New Track 'Flight Home': Premiere

 Donte Maurice
Ye Ali

After writing and producing for the likes of Joyner Lucas, Saweetie, Cupcakke, Tory Lanez and most recently Chris Brown's Indigo album, Ye Ali is back into the spotlight as his own solo artist. While fans admire the Indiana native for his sensual late-night jams, he's offering a different side to his varied artistry with "Flight Home," premiering on Billboard today (July 25).

Produced by Palaze, the single finds Ye Ali returing to his rap roots as he brags about his come-up and lavish lifestyle. "Fuck 12, I've been ducking 5-0 / When I finally make it big, I put all my guys on," he spits over a heavy piano-laden melody.

"I wanted to get back to more rapping because my fans been saying they miss this side of me," Ye Ali tells Billboard. "A lot of my homies were telling me they need to hear something hype for summer. I once flew back to LA while my girl fell asleep in Atlanta. She woke up and I was in a new state -- so I had to make a song about it."

"Flight Home" follows June's "My Way" single, his "Patron & Lemonade" collaboration alongside Eric Bellinger, and the Undressed joint EP with fellow R&B singer TYuS. Ye Ali plans to drop his new Private Suite 2 project tomorrow (July 26), which will tease fans with its R&B groove before taking it to the club with TrapHouse Jodeci 2  -- the anticipated follow-up to TrapHouse Jodeci. There isn't an official release date as of now, but it will coincide with the latter's Sept. 2016 anniversary.

Before then, bounce to "Flight Home" -- the first taste from TrapHouse Jodeci 2 -- below.
