On this week's Emerging Hip-Hop/R&B roundup, California rapper Saweetie gets her first taste of Hot 100 success, while Queens upstart Lil Tecca continues his sprint up the charts. See more about the new rappers impacting the Billboard charts this week below.

Saweetie Nabs First Hot 100 Hit With "My Type"

After her saucy single "Icy Grl" caught viral success in 2017, Saweetie has been diligently working her next smash single. This week, the California bombshell earned her first Hot 100 record with the Petey Pablo-inspired "My Type."

Debuting at No. 81, Saweetie channels Pablo's trunk-rattling 2004 single "Freek-A-Leek" for her bouncy tune. The swaggering record looks to be a new anthem for single ladies on the prowl, in search of the total package for their Hot Girl Summer.

"I'm grateful, but not surprised that 'My Type' hit the Hot 100 because it's a song all women can relate to and enjoy," Saweetie tells Billboard. "I'm a new artist learning the business and honing my craft, so to be amongst the best in music is lit!!!"

Lil Tecca Climbs 16 Spots to Enter Top 40 Territory With "Ran$om"

When we first covered Lil Tecca, the Queens, NY star was getting his feet wet, debuting on the Hot 100 at No. 93 with "Ran$om." His giddy singsong delivery continues to grab ears of listeners, as the song dashes from No. 51 to No. 36 this week and now sits at a whopping 38 million views on YouTube.

"At first, I didn't realize how much of a big deal it was," Tecca told Billboard last month in an interview. "I was more hype for when 'Molly Girl' was No. 1 for a few days in a row on the SoundCloud charts a few months ago. Of course, I knew what the Hot 100 was, but it really didn't hit me how huge it really was. Now, I know it's literally the biggest chart and the most important. It's crazy."

"Ran$om" is also thriving on our Hot Rap Songs chart, as it continues to inch towards the top 10, sitting at No. 12 this week.
