Lloyd Celebrates Genre Diversity With Black Music Month Playlist

Ben Styles

As part of Billboard’s Black Music Month celebration, we've asked Black artists spanning all genres to compile their own unique playlist exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. Each song they've chosen reflects their admiration for fellow artists -- from previous generations to the new millennial era -- who have made an impact on the culture. Below, R&B singer Lloyd shares his soundtrack.

"The beautiful thing about Black Music is that it spreads over many different styles, genres, and cultures," Lloyd tells Billboard about his curated playlist, which includes classic cuts from the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Erykah Badu and Nipsey Hussle.

"To keep it short and sweet, this playlist is simply a small piece of black excellence!"

Lloyd kicked off the year as one of the special guests on B2K's The Millennium Tour and also dropped his "Caramel" video featuring City Girls' Yung Miami. The singer released his fifth album Tru last August.
