Drake Sends Well-Wishes to Kevin Durant Following Achilles Injury: 'Praying for Our Brother'
The Golden State Warriors lost Durant to an injury, but won Monday night's (June 10) pivotal game five.
While a group of Raptor fans cheered Golden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant's nasty injury during Monday night's (June 10) pivotal NBA finals game 5, Drake was noticeably shaken up after seeing his good friend go down in agony. With Durant's Achilles injury looking to be in the serious category, Drizzy sent KD some encouraging words in an Instagram post early Tuesday (June 11).
"Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game tonight after seeing this transpire. Praying for our brother," the 6 God wrote on IG. "That’s my only concern tonight is your well being. 'The game needs me' is an understatement when it comes to 35. Please wish the best for this true warrior."
Durant will have an MRI to confirm if the Achilles tendon is indeed torn. Monday night was KD's first game back since suffering a mysterious calf injury on May 8 during the Rockets series. The 30-year-old notched a quick 11 points prior to going down in the early portion of the second quarter.
The Warriors still managed to edge out the Raptors 106-105 to keep their title hopes alive and steal game 5 on the road in Toronto. The series now shifts back to the Bay with game 6 slated for Thursday night (June 13). Drake even teased some new music if the Raptors do take home their first championship.
