After watching Yella Beezy and Quando Rondo thrive last week with their notable chart moves, for this edition of Emerging Hip-Hop/R&B, Billboard is exploring the success of Joyner Lucas and Afrobeats star Afro B.

Joyner Lucas Reenters Emerging Artists Chart

After landing a pair of Grammy nominations in 2018, Joyner Lucas used that momentum to steamroll his way into the new year. Last week, Lucas shocked fans when he squashed his beef with one-time nemesis Logic to release their blistering collab "Isis." Once again, Lucas' penchant for creative videos shines, as the military-themed visual finds the lyrical tandem shredding their opposition with vigor.

As of press time, the video for "Isis" sits at a staggering 12 million views on YouTube and has allowed Lucas to re-enter our Emerging Artists chart this week, returning at No. 47. "Isis" comes after Lucas released his captivating video "Devil's Work," which paid homage to the late Nipsey Hussle.

Afro B's "Drogba" Hits a New Peak on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Afro B exemplifies the sheer beauty of patience. For the past year, the London-raised Afrobeats star busily chipped away until he struck gold with his single "Drogba (Joanna)."

The dance-happy tune soars from No. 34 to No. 29 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts this week, reaching a new peak. After thriving in the clubs of London much of 2018, "Drogba" is simmering in the U.S., with hopes of exploding into the summer.

"This song has lasted long, long and it's still lasting," he said in an interview with Vibe earlier this year. "But it's just touching. The world is a big place, so it's just hitting people that haven't heard it yet. I just have to keep going."
