Get to Know 'Worth It' Rapper and Vocalist YK Osiris: Watch

In this week’s episode of “You Should Know,” Billboard is getting to know rapper and R&B vocalist YK Osiris, as he reveals when he began making music, how he came up with his stage name, who he would love to collaborate with, and what inspired his track “Worth It.”

YK Osiris, who grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, tells Billboard that he began making music when he was around 14 or 15 years old. Asked where the name YK Osiris came from, the artist replies that a teacher named him YK. “It means Young King, so I stuck with it and I ran with it,” he says.

If he could collaborate with any artist, YK Osiris states his pick would be Drake. “He's a legend and he make good music,” he explains. He also reveals that the first CD he ever bought was by Sean Kingston and that he would love to one day master playing basketball.

As for what influenced his song “Worth It,” YK Osiris shares that it is about a girl being worth it. “A girl getting what she deserve, and she don't need to show off her body, it's what's in her heart,” he says.
