Ari Lennox Drops 'Shea Butter Baby' Debut Album Featuring J. Cole, J.I.D.: Listen

Ari Lennox delivered her long-awaited debut album on Tuesday (May 7).

The Dreamville signee maneuvered her way through a bunch of life's obstacles to finally release Shea Butter Baby. Lennox's highly anticipated neo-soul project boasts 44 minutes of unabashed vulnerability.

"It's about to get so fucking freaky, get out," she closes out the opening of "Chicago Boy." SBB includes a previously-released assist from J. Cole on the album's title track and a separate guest appearance from fellow Dreamville artist J.I.D. landing on "Broke." The D.C. native led into the project with a sultry final single titled "Up Late" just a week ago (April 30).

The 28-year-old has been holding onto these records for quite some time, as she can finally exhale temporarily with the world now being on the receiving end of Shea Butter Baby. “These vibes can heal a lot of people," Lennox recently explained to Billboard.
